The Mind.

Here is a list of 5 mental approaches for mind.  Vedic medicine has always worked on the mechanical level of the mind's intelligence.  Vedic science knows specific indications of a mind that is strong, weak, or unbalanced.  It knows what those various states of mind are likely to mean for health.

1. Transcendence- Transcendence is good. It's an expanded state of the mind.  You transcend during Transcendental Meditation.  Transcending creates balance in your mind and in the all-important body, too.  During transcendence, you merge with your higher Self.

2. Memory- This memory doesn't mean just remembering where you put your car keys.  It's the memory of the unity of life--knowing that the transcendence is what you are.  The effect of this kind of memory is pretty cool.--Fearlessness.

3. Patience. Some experts translate this mental approach as "courage."  The two go together anyway--courage and patience.  When you have total knowledge of life, you can patiently wait and watch things unfold.  And you have no fear about the outcome.

4. Knowledge-You do learn things from books, movies, TV, and walking around the streets.  That kind of knowledge which comes in handy in life.

5. Wisdom-You can tell from the name that this knowledge has something to do with the one just above it.  When you have an experience, you begin to make proper sense out of the knowledge you have learned from books and places.  In turn, you gain wisdom.

When the mind is working right, all five of these mental approaches are strong.  By looking at the categories, you can begin to sense that having a strong mind would make you strong in lots of good
ways.  When the mind isn't working right, it's a whole different story.

When the mind is pure, then it lives all five of these qualities fully.
