Beans


Here we have an adorable Bean and a delicious bean!!

Here is some great advice from Donna Gates:

Beans have some protein and some starch in them, so they send mixed signals to the digestive system, and that is why many people have trouble digesting them. Always soak beans overnight to remove the enzyme inhibitors, and cook them with a piece of kombu (ocean veggie) and sea salt (to make them more alkaline). Serve beans with non-starchy green vegetables. The key to introducing them is to try the larger beans first, such as garbanzo, kidney, and anasazi. Try a small portion at first, and don't mix types of beans,--just one type at a time.
