2/3 cup lentils
2/3 cup split peas
2/3 cup brown rice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1 rib celery, chopped
3 cups onion or veggie broth
3 cups water
1 tsp. turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. lemon- pepper seasoning
1/2 tsp. ginger powder
In a large pan, toast lentils, peas, rice and garlic until aromatic (about 5 minutes). Add onion, carrot, celery, broth, 3 cups water, turmeric powder, lemon-pepper and ginger powder. Simmer gently 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Makes about 6 cups.
