Franny Pants and Fonzi take JP shopping!!




Here is their basic Vegan shopping list:

Grains Products: Brown rice, quinoa, Bulgur, Dry cereal, Mixed cereal, Whole grain bread, Whole grain pasta, Flours (whole wheat, unbleached, other), Barley, Millet, Other grains, Oatmeal, Popcorn, Whole grain crackers.

Vegetables and Fruits: Fresh greens (kale, collards, Chinese/Napa cabbage, broccoli, garlic and onions. Seasonal vegetables. Seasonal fruits. Tomato sauce, paste, and canned tomatoes. Canned water packed fruits. Raisins, FIGS, apricots, dates, prunes, dried fruit. Frozen vegetables. Frozen fruit and juices.

Beans and Lentils and Products: Dried Legumes (navy beans, garbanzos, pinto beans, kidney beans, lentils, split peas, etc.) Canned legumes. Prepared bean dishes such as soups and chili. Tofu and tempeh. Instant dried legume dishes (humus, soups, casseroles, refried beans, etc.) Meat substitutes, vegetarian patties, soy wieners, veggie slices, sausages, veggie ground.

Nuts, Seeds and Butters: Nuts (raw cashews, almonds, walnuts, pecans, filberts, peanuts). Nut butters. Seeds (flax, pumpkin, hemp, sesame, sunflower). Seed butters (tahini).

Soy and Grain beverages and related products: fortified soy or grain milks. Vegan soy cheese. soy yogurt.

Herbs and Spices: Fresh parsley, cilantro, basil. Fresh ginger. Oregano, sage, savory, thyme.
Chili powder or other chili. Cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cumin, curry. Mustard (dijon type), prepared or powder. Salt and pepper.

Sweeteers: Blackstrap molasses Barley malt, rice syrup, maple syrup. Jams and conserves. Dried cane sugar.

Beverages: Cereal grain beverages. Fruit and vegetable juices. Leaf and herbal teas. Organic coffee.

Fat and Oils: Flaxseed oil. Virgin olive oil. Canola, high-oleic sunflower or safflower oils. Nut oils (hazelnut, walnut). Toasted sesame oil. Soy spread. Vegetable or lecithin spray.

Seasonings, Condiments, and Other: Vegetarian Support Formula Nutritional Yeast (formerly Red Star brand T 6635+) Seaweed (hijiki, wakame, nori, agar). Miso. Bragg Liquid Aminos. Tamari or soy sauce. Bottled sauces (teriyaki, barbeque, sweet and sour, other). Vegetable broth, powder, or cubes. Vinegar (rice, wine, balsamic, or apple cider vinegar) Frozen lemon juice. Patak's or other curry paste.
