Vitamin D

Vitamin D stimulates calcium absorption and supports blood clotting, nervous system function, and the growth of bones and teeth.  For the most park, the body manufacturers its own vitamin D through a process stimulated by exposure of the skin to ultraviolet rays (as from sunlight).  Certain foods, however, provide small amounts of dietary vitamin D.

Alfalfa leaves, Basil, Chickweed, Fenugreek seeds, Leafy green vegetables (especially watercress), Horsetail, Mullein, Nettles, Papayas, Parsley, Shiitake mushrooms, Sunflower seeds and sunflower greens, Sweet potatoes, Wheatgrass.

Sunlight and a shot of wheatgrass.
