Cleansing and Detoxification

During the cleansing process, it is necessary to eat foods that encourage the detoxification and healing process. The tendency in most people's diets is to eat too many acid forming foods. This creates imbalance problems in the body. Recipes that include fresh and wholesome foods with more alkaline pH balance are encouraged. This promotes healing and cleansing of the entire internal system and assists in balancing the body's pH level.

While cleansing, avoid all canned, frozen, and processed foods, fried foods, sugar, salt, white flour products, dairy, meats, alcohol, caffeine, soy products, vinegar (except apple cider vinegar), seeds and nuts (unless sprouted), and oils (except flax seed and extra virgin olive oil).

Eat fresh organic produce when possible. Whole grains like quinoa, millet, and amaranth may be eaten. Fresh vegetable and fruit juices, herbal teas, extra virgin olive oil and flax seed oil and sprouted seeds are also good to use.

Offered is a quick raw meal:

Avocado
2 to 3 cucumbers
3 medium tomatoes (vine-ripened, low-acid)
Sprouts or greens (such as buckwheat or sunflower greens)

Chop the first three ingredients and mix together, mashing the avocado as you mix. The juices of the tomatoes and the cucumbers will mix with the avocado to form an instant creamy dressing. The amount of avocado you use depends on how creamy you want it.
